  1. 26-million native birds were killed in NZ forests last year. Another 26-million will die in the next 12-months. John Innes, a scientist from Landcare Research has spoken out on the impact that possums, stoats and ship-rats have on our wildlife. The scale of it is appalling. John's video is featured at the top left on this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/TrakaBat

Take a look at the YouTube video at that link ... share it with your friends and contacts ... it's over-whelming evidence from a respected source that aerial 1080 is essential to maintain the health of our forests and wildlife and prevent further extinctions and declines of our native species.

Should be compulsory viewing for every hunter who misrepresents the impacts of 1080 !

It might give them a wider perspective !?

I read recently that no one has died in NZ from 50 years of application of 1080, but hunters kill an average of 1.5 people annually.

I have heard someone say that most rats live their entire life up in the trees and rarely ever come down to the ground. If this is true, aerial 1080 must have huge benefits over ground control.

It's flying over Opua Forest. This forest is absolutely riddled with Possums and rats! I got 341 Possums out of there the other day in a very small area. This is what they have done to most of the Totara. Disgraceful!
