I am currently undertaking a research project regarding Australasian Harrier in Auckland. My project aims to identify the distribution and density of the harrier population in urban/residential Auckland, as well as looking at other aspects of harrier ecology within this area. This project is part of a Teacher Fellowship, which is awarded by the Royal Society of New Zealand.
As avid bird-watchers, I would be very grateful for any information regarding harrier activity that your members may be able to provide throughout the year. All sightings are very useful in helping me to achieve my goals and will also help contribute to a greater understanding of bird ecology in New Zealand.
