Went to a very funny debate last night in Wellington's Fringe Bar on the topic of whether the morepork/ruru is the noblest NZ bird. Comedian Jerome Chandrahasen was extremely entertaining as the ruru champion, assisted by a passionate pukeko. Russel Norman did a bit of improv and totally undermined the ruru cause with help from a kakariki with hard-hitting facts.
