    Hi there,

I am on the committee for our local F&B group, and we want to hold some film evenings (not for profit) to raise our profile in the area - and hopefully get some more members! And to raise awareness of our world. I am trying to source some films - anything considered, but obviously relevant to F&B intrests/themes, which we can get permission to use. I have approached afew distributors of interesting looking films, but the fees they want ($100+) are way too much for us as we are a really small town/area.

If anyone has any suggestions we would really appreciate it! Cheers

Checking out Reel Earth might be useful? They run the eco-film festivals see advertised here in the past (so their website will be in amongst earlier postings in this Green Room somewhere).

  3. These films are available if you want to hold a film night -

“A Tale of Two Rivers” –

This is a 30 minute documentary that looks at power schemes and the west coast, focusing on Meridian’s plan to dam the Mokihinui River, and HDL Stockton’s plan to dam and generate power from polluted mine water.

    “Rivers: Mokihinui”
This episode is presented by well-known New Zealand scenic photographer, back-country explorer and F & B executive member, Craig Potton. In this one-hour episode, Craig travels the length of this threatened river, talking to people and examining its past, present and future

Also we could probably get our hands on “End of the Line” and "River Dog" if you fancy playing that too. If you're interested in playing these films contact Phil on p.bilbrough@forestandbird.org.nz

  4. Good on you, Vinnie. Forest & Bird's Southland branch has made a lovely film about its yellow-eyed penguin reserve. It's called Te Rere: Restoring the Home of the Hoiho. Contact Chris Rance at rances@ihug.co.nz for more info.

Thank you for your suggestions so far, any others welcome.... also any filmmakers who would consider letting us screen their film, free, would be great.

I have contacted a couple that I found via the Reel Earth website, but their distributors want a fee that we cannot afford as we are not screening for profit..

    cheers
