About a third of wonderful Hinewai Reserve in Banks Peninsula has been burnt in a fire. It must be devastating for the even more wonderful Hugh Wilson, who has spent more than 20 years helping the 1200ha reserve regenerate. I saw him interviewed on TV last night and he was his usual stoic self - the fire was caused by nature (lightning) and nature will now take its course. Thankfully two-thirds of the reserve remains and so does Hugh's house.
