I've just been thinning my hebes and I found a waxeye nest. I'm wondering if I wired up wire netting here and there (eg an ornamental apple in the street if I could provide nesting sites?
I also thought of making a wire mesh and steel structure (maybe grow a vine up it) if I could make an attractive nesting place?
Any ideas?

I would not go to too much trouble with the nesting sights, but if you want to help them you can get the left overs from your next roast meal, fat, crackling, etc, put it in a bag they can get too like an onion sack is good and hang from a tree. They love eating it and it gets them though the hard winter. We also full a pine cone full of left over fat and hang that from a tree. Good luck!
