    Hi,

I wonder if someone at F and B can help us with advice? We have just bought a property (1/4 acre Auckland residential) overgrown with Jasminum polyanthum. I can find herbidcide methods of dealing with it but wondered if there was a non toxic method?? If we had labour could we cut it down to close to ground level and remove, and then pull out the stalks and roots?? Is that even feasible?
    Thanks for any advice. Claire

have wrestled with that beast a bit in Palmy. You can use the chop and pull approach, but be prepared for some hard work. it will get you at least 95% of the way there, you might find some recalcitrant bits (e.g. in concrete cracks) are better dealt to with poisons but you should be able to get the vast majority without.

Have a look at http://www.forestandbird.org.nz/what-we-do/branches/central-auckland and they refer to http://www.arc.govt.nz/environment/biosecurity/search-for-plants/regional-plants-a-z.cfm for good information about all sorts of weeds, including jasmine.

Looks like even after you've chopped and pulled though the recommendation is that the bits you've pulled and chopped need to be blasted with herbicide.
