Kauri dieback - new safeguard against spread

    Auckland Council is trialling a new method of disinfecting footwear to slow or halt the progression of kauri dieback in the area.

    In Northland MAF is considering using aerial surveying of the kauri dieback in local forests to supplement satelite imagery. Expect to see a few more planes and know what they're up to.

    Met up with a person from ARC Biosecurity who had a great little booklet which explores the ecology of kauri, common diseases and advice about care and propagation.
