I've just been reading about the Napier KCC events, and I loved the idea about them having a couple of trips where they lob seed 'balls' with tennis rackets into a wetland to re-establish native plants there http://www.kcc.org.nz/sites/kiwiconservationclub/files/file/napier%20kcc%20may-jun.pdf
That's what I call acing the problem!

The KCC in the Wellington region has been doing that down here for several years now. Makes for a fun time.

As a matter of interest, we have also been hand broadcasting seeds of succession species (eh kohekohe) into the new pioneer plantings on Mana Island when they've matured enough. Seems to be working well and it's a lot cheaper, easier and quicker.
