There is no control over visitors when they leave the Oamaru blue penguin colony viewing centre, Waterfront road, Oamaru harbour. Penguins cross the road at various sites along the road. Visitor activities are restricting the penguins access to their nesting sites and delaying the feeding of their chicks.

I have been trying for over 10 years to get changes made outside the viewing centre but all requests have been ignored. Is this eco-tourism at its best? It is time for change and your voice can make the change.
