Hello. I have a Pohutakawa tree on my property of at least 75 yrs old. It is Magificent.!!! This tree attracts and fills with tuis feeding off the nector when in flower, with all the flaxes and plants we have planted to attract and feed the native birds.
I'd like to find a way of protecting this tree, as I have heard that the protection of natives trees is basically none existant. ???, I thought they where protected as native to NZ. and have recently found that they are not.
If anyone could help me, or provide me with some information on this it would be very much appreciated!
