Earlier on this year, I posted a blog about a group of inventors who had created a re-setting trap -

Well now DOC is going to trial them. The first traps will be laid in the summer of 2011!

So do they kill Possums, Rats, Cats and Stoats?
No they just kill possums - standby for a blog!
The ones I have seen in action were initially aimed at stoats as was shown on TV1 News the other night, possums seem to be the latecomer!
Suggest you try

From the interviews on TV the other night, the govt and DoC seemed quite adament that this was not a step to reducing the use of 1080 though.
Hi raptor, the designer I talked to said it was primarily aimed at possums - however it may also kill stoats and ferrets -

There are versions ready or being developed for possums, stoats and rats I think, from what I can see on the developers' site: http://www.goodnature.co.nz/
Check out their videos and watch the bodies pile up. The 5 possums in 7 nights from 1 trap is impressive.
This YouTube video from DOC showcases some exciting new methods of pest control, including re-setting traps. The Spitfire, a re-setting poison delivery device that can humanely dispatch up to 100 stoats with the newly-registered toxin PAPP will be of considerable interest to those who are running stoat control projects on the Coast as they fit in the standard tunnels (starts at 5:10 on the video).
