In the first week of March ( from Mon 28th Feb – Fri 4th March inc ) Auckland Council is looking for hardy individuals to help us put in tracks at Whakanewha Regional park on Waiheke. This will be hard physical work, shifting metal onto tracks , using shovels and track machines. I think there may be some step construction too. Accommodation is provided in the bunks at the Forest and Bird house near Onetangi, and will be free, and possibly food will be provided as well. The council will also pay for the ferry over , but you do need to commit to work hard for the full 5 days. The evenings are yours to go swimming, exploring etc. Please ring or email Mags Ramsey at the council if you want to know more info, or would like to sign up. MagsRamsey@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
