Could someone who's in-the-know please explain (in simple terms for us uninitiated please!) just what any proposed changes to legislation over High Country tenure and allowing mining on conservation lands might have on access for hunting? I always thought that might be an area where hunters and conservationists could perhaps lobby jointly. I mean, is it more important for the majority of hunters, say, to not have aerial 1080 poisoning which could kill goats pigs and deer, on DoC-managed lands, or to have access to the bits of land./bush where these animals can be freely hunted? (as in anyone can get access there, not just the land-owner's mates), and will hunters have to wear hard-hats now in any bushy area?
